Arizona Election Season Heats Up with Pro-Palestinian Protesters

Saturday October 5, 2024 11:59PM Arizona is no stranger to heat and as the temperatures continue to break records into the start of October, and the presidential election moves into overdrive, Pro-Palestinian protesters are showing no signs of slowing down either.

Recently, protesters took to the streets in Tucson Arizona the same day Kamala Harris chose to step into the city to advocate for her Border Control policies.

As Harris visited the border points along Douglas, Arizona to speak with Border Patro authorities, Pro-Palestinian protesters decided show their concerns at the entrance of Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, which is about a two-hour car ride north of Douglas.

“Protesters have been making sure that whenever there is an event or visit by someone in the Harris campaign and sometimes Trump campaign, these protesters are showing up to stretch their voices” says Anshula Kulkarni, a local resident in Tempe, Arizona who says she plans on voting this November. “They were here at Arizona State University back in April and they haven’t let up one bit.”

When Harris and Walz had their August rally in Glendale, Arizona they appeared again, only to be led out by a volunteer for the Harris and Walz campaign within minutes, but not without catching the attention of Harris and her response.

It seems as if they are everywhere tactfully, and there is no sign that they will let up or stop as two female protesters were able to interrupt Tim Walz at a Debate Watch Party hosted for Arizona Democrat volunteers and the press in Mesa, Arizona on September 12th as seen in the video above with the protesters from the Glendale event as well.

Akela Brown, a resident of Chandler, Arizona and a longtime Arizona Democrat volunteer and now for the Harris/Walz campaign, says that the protesters are very active and this wasn’t an issue last election with any protesters. “They are around the valley at just about all of the campaign events that contains a political figure.”

With more visits coming up in the following few weeks from both the Republican and Democrat campaigns, as Arizona plays a crucial part in this presidential election once again, there is certainty that protesters will be there to remind the next potential leaders and the public that they are serious about the cause they represent.
